step one: setting up webdav - windows xp

directions

  • Double-click on My Computer
  • Double-click on My Network Places.
  • Select Add a Network Place
  • The "Add Network Place Wizard" will appear
  • Click Next
  • Select Choose another network location
  • Click Next
  • Enter the following URL as the location
  • Click Next

    https://mywebspace.wisc.edu/<NetID>/web
  • Enter MyWebSpace in the Namebox
  • Click Next
  • Choose Open this network place when I finish box and click Finish
  • Enter NetID and password when prompted
  • The MyWebSpace folder should open on the screen.

step two: setting up webdav - mac os x 10.4

directions

  • Choose the Go | Connect to Server from the Finder. Note: Mac OS X 10.4 is required to make a connection to MyWebSpace. Earlier versions will not be able to make this connect.
  • Enter https://mywebspace.wisc.edu//<NetID>/web in the Server Address box
  • Click Connect
  • Enter NetID and password
  • WebDAV folder is mounted on the Desktop.

step three: publishing files to server

  • Open the web folder inside the MyWebSpace folder.
  • Drag the SSC_Site folder from the Desktop into the web folder.

  • Open Internet Explorer and enter the following URL:

    https://mywebspace.wisc.edu/<NetID>/web/SSC_Site
