Materials such as books, articles, videos, solution sets, and exams that an instructor has selected for use by students enrolled in a specific course are placed "on reserve" at the UW-Madison Libraries. Some courses will not have any designated reserve materials. Materials are made available in print, audio-visual or electronic formats. StreamingDescription: Streaming media technology enables you to include audio, video and other multimedia files into your web site, enriching the experience for your visitors and allowing you to convey information in a more meaningful and engaging manner. Visitors to your site will be able to listen to or view media files while live events are happening and/or in an archived format after an event has taken place ClasslistsClasslist is an automated no-charge system that allows instructors to have email distribution lists generated based upon their course enrollment. The Classlist system is based entirely on authentication using your NetID and password. The Classlist system automatically updates the email distribution lists with Registrar data six times a day, seven days a week, throughout the semester. Thus, student changes, e.g. add/drop, are automatically reflected. Access: Controlled through class roster. Instructors can determine whether students can post or just receive to the classlist. WebSurveyWebSurvey@UW allows you to create and deploy online surveys from anywhere using the web. WebSurvey@UW provides a fast, effective way to take the pulse of your stakeholders and measure changes in their attitudes or behaviors. It’s as easy as sending an email. Access: Surveys can be completed by anyone. ClickersClickers, also known as Student Response Systems, are devices with which instructors can pose questions during class The software then gathers the results and displays them on the screen, allowing the instructor to get immediate feedback on how well the students understand the concept being taught. eInstruction is the recommended response system on campus. For more information on clickers, go the clicker web site PodcastingPodcasting is the delivery of course materials, usually audio and video content, to students through the use of RSS subscription method. Through this subscription method, content added by the instructor is automatically delivered to students through the use of a RSS aggregator, such as iTunes. In 2006 -2007, DoIT's Engage program is sponsoring an award program centered on podcasting technologies. At this time, DoIT is evaluating the usefulness of this technology and working with campus to determine if a service is required, and if so, how that service would built. BreezeBreeze includes a system for delivering narrated PowerPoint presentations as well as a component for meeting online in real-time. Services for Breeze Presentation and Breeze Meeting are offered at Instructional Communication Systems (ICS).
