Synopsis
Camtasia is an application that enables you to record whatever happens on your PC screen, add synchronized narration to the resulting video and export your presentation to a format that can be streamed or downloaded from the web. You can deliver your presentations in Real, Quicktime, Flash SWF, and WindowsMedia formats.
The Good
Camtasia is easy to install, and most of the recording process is simple. It seems like a good tool for recording PowerPoint presentations that do not include audio or video elements.
The Bad
Editing of audio and video was difficult or impossible with this tool.

A toolbar is automatically installed into the Microsoft PowerPoint program during the Camtasia installation process. Push the record button on the toolcar and your presentation will begin to be recorded. You are then free to click through the presetation at your own pace while it records.s |

Recommendations/Final Notes:
Overall, Camtasia was user friendly and easy to become acquainted with. However, users are likely to encounter dificulties in the editing phase if audio and video feed are present. We would not recommend using Camtasia for creating Flash movies with sound. Camtasia's sound capabilities were found to be limited, and users will likely have to create a sound file in a different program to run simultaneously with the presentation file created with Camtasia. Users may also encounter difficulties editing video clips.
