Other Types of Digital Stories
Digital Stories can be different than the type presented in our workshops. They can be just about any form of expression, expressed through digital technology. Here are a few other examples to get your imagination going:

  • "Shifting Perspectives", an example using Prezi
  • Saving Donna's Brain, a Vuvox example
  • AnyCerda uses historic maps and documents, architecture, photographs, interviews and resident-created "show-and-tell" videos to tell the story of place. (No English just Catalan)
  • Berlin Wall Twitter is a collaborative open collection of very short "stories"
  • The Greenbush Tour is a mobile Augmented Reality, place-based experience that tells a story of a Madison neighborhood.
  • ARIS Project - a tool for you to make mobile games, tours and interactive stories.

Of course, the internet is replete with other examples and forms of what could be called Digital Stories: blogs, comics, YouTube videos, etc. Pretty much anything that gives personal insight into another can be considered a story. You can probably think of your own examples.
Digital Storytelling Tools
Some tools available to aid in the digital storytelling process.

  • Tell My Story is an iPhone app that allows you to create the types of stories we do at our workshops — all on your iPhone.
  • Microsoft's Photo Story 3 is a Windows application that allows simple story telling.
  • Animoto is an online application that takes your music, video clips and photos and creates a unique video from them.
  • ARIS Project - a tool for you to make mobile games, tours and interactive stories.
